Forklift Licensing - the Old and the New

With forklift operation now deemed "high risk", a new forklift licensing system will be implemented from January 1 2012 that includes a more complex licence test. The AIMM's training manager Steve Hughes provided comprehensive details of the current and the new proposed forklift licensing system as part of the national WHS harmonisation program.

The model Work Health and Safety Act, regulations and codes

The model Work Health and Safety Act and associated Regulation are set to become law from 1 January 2012. While the details of the Model Act have been settled, the draft regulations and priority codes of practice have been released for public comment. It is critical for business to commence implementation of appropriate changes so that compliance can be achieved. This session provided practical guidance to business on achieving this outcome.
